Tetra Whisper EX45 Vs. Aqua Clear 70

I have a 35 gallon tank that will be stocked with 31 fish all of fairly small size. I am runnign the Tetra Whisper EX45 right now and it seems to be noisy. Has anyone tried running the Aqua clear 70? Ive read mostly good reviews saying that it is quiet and very good, but there's a few that say they have had some issues. What are your experiences with them?

A few have said theirs is nosy, but it seems that they have purchased a bad one, and once returning it they are happy with the one they get in its replacement. Other than that everyone seems to be happy, do you run the Carbon in yours?

AC70 is great. Simple to operate and no cartridges to replace.
