Ok, I have decided to start a journal with my 29,
I started the tank today, got the old tree root decor in, added new gravel, an amazon plant, anubius, and another plant which I'm not sure what it is.
I need to buy a testing kit, and according to the strip thermometer, my temperature is 76-78 degrees, if you can see the thermometer.
I will be leaving the tank cycle for a month, after that, I will start adding my fish, I will be uploading weekly progress like parameters, new plants and decorations I get, I will also be uploading the fish I get, there will defenetly be at least one more decoration, and of course, more plants!
I would really like comments, ideas, and just your comments, what do you think?
Thank you
LOACH

Yup community, here is my stock
One gold gourami
2 German blue rams
8 neon tetras
3 peppered Cory's
4 black kuhli loaches
3 silver hatchetfish
2 otocinclus catfish

Cories barbels would appreciate sand or something as a substrate, but that gravel will be okay. You just have the standard lighting that came with that top fin tank? Either the LEDs or the light?

Actually, that's just my desk lights

Hey, I feel like a gold gourami might be too agressive or the neon tetras, can I substitute that for a African leaf fish?

Ok, new stock, just changed a bit, I still need ideas for a centerpiece
African leaf fish or angelfish or golden gourami
5 neon tetras
2 German blue rams
One bristlenose pleco
4 black kuhli loaches
3 peppered Cory's
One African clawed frog
How does this sound?

Frogs, IMO, should be in their own tank for a long list of reasons.

I never said you couldn't do the Golden Gourami.

You could do African dwarf frogs if nothing in the tank would pick in them (they'd need hand/spot fed)
But, I'd stay away from clawed frogs. A lot of them are carriers of chytrid (so) fungus which is lethal to alot of fish.

African dwarf frogs need to come to the surface for air, and 18 inches tall is too much for them, dwarfs are a no no for my tank

You need to pull the rhizome of the anubias out of the substrate or it will rot and fowl your water fairly quickly. You can just plant the thinner roots or you can attach it to driftwood or decorations, both work well. The second plant is water wisteria, the leaves look like yours when not their not mature, when the grow out a little and get some light the leaves should look a little more "spiky" I guess you would say.

What is the rhizome! Is it ok like this!
Also, are you sure this is a water wissilia?
