Tropical Fish Question on Temperature Tolerance

How tolerant are fish like tetras, cats and such to temperature changes?

I keep my tank at 75-76 degrees. But we had a cold snap last night and I forgot to turn on the heater in the house. The tank temperature dropped to 73-74. The fish seem happy and content but will a temperature change like that lead to problems?

It shouldn't, I've accidentally done the same thing. Just don't have it happen too often as this may weaken the fish. Just keep an eye them.

A small drop should be fine. I pour cool water into my tank to stimulate breeding.
