Upgrading to external filter

Hi guys, I have been looking at external filters for a possible upgrade in the future to my Fluval Roma 90 setup, have seen the Fluval 105 which seems to be the right one. I just wanted to hear your opinions and whether it would make any difference to upgrade to an external filter on this size tank?
