upside down catfish and aquarium salt

I know that aquarium salt is healthy for my other fish (guppies and platys) but I am not suppose to use it with my upside down catfish. I was wondering should I stop the use of aquarium salt all together or is it ok to just use a little. I was thinking of only using it every couple of weeks.

The only use for aquarium salt is to treat illness. Freshwater fish (including guppies and platies) should not have aquarium salt in their tank unless there is a known health issue present.
