Using spring wAter

My ph using my tap water is 7.6 right now. I have Bolivian rams and an angel. Someone at my lfs told me I should try and lower my ph And said to use ro or spring water instead of my tap. If I do switch to spring water, will it hurt my fish because of the sudden change in ph? Anyone got any ideas on what's best?

Spring water can contain contaminants and the fish will not be ready to respond to the sudden changes.

Okay I know a stable ph is better. Will that high of a ph be okay?

I have angels and some tetras and my pH is 8.2. They are fine

Okay thanks. My main concern was the rams but i think they are okay
