Is it safe or beneficial to use tank water to water vegetable garden? The only thing I use in my tanks is Prime.

It's actually an excellent fertilizer for plants, especially the good stuff you get from gravel vacuuming and cleaning out filter sponges.

Hello Tiger...

You bet! I fertilize my outdoor plants with the old fish water. Prime isn't harmful, it doesn't affect your tank plants, so it shouldn't hurt the ones outdoors either. It simply removes the chlorine and chloramine from the tap water. You know, the chemicals the city people put into the water to make it safe for us to drink?

The really good ferts are in the used media in your tank filter. Squeeze that into the old water too. You'll have real jungle outside in no time!
