Hey all
Going on vacation for 12 days and have a few questions for my tank.
36 gallon bow front
Aquino quiet flow 30
Hydro 2 sponge filter
Large air bubble rod
Low tech planted (6 Amazon sword, 2 water wisteria, Java fern, hornwort)

Stock:
2 x juvenile GBr
2 x juvenile Angelfish
9 x espei tadbora
5 x Cory

Will have a friend Feed once every 3-4 days. Photo period of 6 hours on timer

Just wondering if I do a 75% water change before leaving, will the fish be okay for 12 days with no WC. ? Don't want to go through hassle of showing friend water change and dosing and everything

Thanks for the helpImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1433944489.999199.jpg

They should be fine.

As for feeding: put how much you would feed them in ziplock bags and write the days on them. And tell him/her no matter how hungry the fish look don't feed any more. This is what I did for my week vacation. The bags prevent over feeding while you are gone.

Agree with putting out measured doses of food. Don't make them larger than normal, trying to compensate for missing out a couple of days, just what you would normally feed them. The reduced feeding will benefit your fish and the nitrate levels will be surprisingly low on your return, especially if the tank is planted. I think, generally, most fish keepers over feed their fish - I'm sure that I do!
