I have a 35 gallon hex tank with cichlids. i have a wet/dry trickle filter that has the overflow box hanging on the outside of the tank. the water looks cloudy but its not from floating particles. taking a closer look, its tiny air bubbles that rise up and disappear when they hit the surface. any reasons why my water has this problem? could it be that my pump is actuallly pushing too much water? plz help!

Welcome to AA!

Most likely it's your filter creating bubbles and injecting them back into the tank. Google "Melev's Reef" and do some reading. He lays out bubble traps pretty nicely there.

no but i need to get some sort of co2 system cause i have just planted some live plants.

You don't necessarily need CO2 for live plants. It wouldn't hurt, but I think you'd lose nearly all the CO2 when the water splashes around in the filter.
