Water Has Developed an Odor

I have a quite large indoor pond with a water fall. The water is very clear and the fish are healthy but it has developed an odor. Sort of like a damp or musty water smell. Have had this pond for 5 years and have never had this happen. There are no leaks or anyplace where there is standing water to cause this smell.

Does any one have any suggestions of what might be causing this?

Usually, running the water through activated charcoal will reduce the odor.
