Water parameter differs?

Do/can water parameters differ at various levels in the tanks water column?

Provided you have a good turn over rate on your filter there shouldn't be any areas of your tank that differ. Most hobbyists aim for a turn over rate 8-10x per hour. Thus means that if you had a 55 gallon tank you would want a filter rated for approximately 550gallons per hour. If you notice there is an area in your tank that doesn't have good circulation try adding an air stone or a power head.
