water testing

My tap pH is about 6.8, I just tested my water and the pH has dipped to 6.0. I'm assuming this is from the driftwood I added (about a month ago), is this way too low of a pH? Is there something I can do besides remove the driftwood, because it looks way cool. Fish seem to be doing same as ever. I also planted the tank, does that have an effect on pH?

TIA

The time of day that you test will also have an effect on the ph. It will be higher and lower at different times throughout the day.
