Weather loach

I posted previously about my weather loaches wondering if they had parasites... Well it seems they do no they were just literally starving to death the previous owner could not have been feeding them very often.they were so skinny it was unreal they are now filling out and constantly shedding their old skin because of how fast they are gaining weight. One issue tho I thought they were supposed to be bottom feeders. Mine particularly the biggest one are always skimming the surface looking for food they don't stop at all. Is this normal
