I just saw one of my males and my female platy just sitting on the bottom of my tank right next to each other. I put my hand to the tank where they were and they swam away. Why would they be doing that? Are they sick?

Have you made any changes in the tank lately? Can you take a picture or two so I can kinda see what's going on.

Male and female what?

Zeros across the board is not normal.

I would do a water change and retest , are you using test strips ?
Maybe take a sample into a store that uses API master test kit also ?

Anytime my fish act weird, I do a 50% water change.

What temp ?

What size tank ?

What is total stock ?

And you don't deal with algae issues?
Also 0 nitrate means that there is a inaccurate reading what test kit are you using?

No there's no algae I have the strips. I'm going to get the water test tonight I heard it's more accurate

Testing the water with strips won't do any good. Test it again with the liquid kit
But I do agree with the light situation, cut back to 8 hours a day
