What is the best temperature for my tank?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!

Whatever it is set to now is probably right :)

I think in most cases a stable temperature is more important than the "right" temperature. And with that many different kinds of fish I can't imagine there is a "right" temperature for all of them.

Yes, very true! I have a goldfish stable at 80F and he acts just fine, if not better than in the coldwater range he was supposed to be in (52F-72F). If you're in the temp range for the fish and can keep it there without hassle, then you're at the right temp. No need to worry.... especially if your fish are fine.
 
Just remember that a slow change is best. Don't drastically change the temperature. 1-2F a day is usually suggested I believe.
