Diatoms

It s either diatoms or algae.

Diatoms will died by themselves once the silicates are consumed.
Algae can be controlled with reducing the time that you keep your lights on.

Don't know.
Some people experienced a looong periods of time wit the diatoms, up to 6 months. There is a fish that eats diatoms, called ottos.

Other people suffered for a month or two, and then they just going away.

Diatoms will go away themselves when they use up any silicates in the tank

What are silicates? And aren't diatoms only in saltwater tanks? Aren't they brown?
