I have a white hairy stuff on my fake plants and not sure what it is. Kinda looked like spiderwebs when i first noticed it. Cleaned everything off the best i could a week ago but it seemed to come back. Any ideas?

It looks like the stuff that grows normally on driftwood in new tanks. It is harmless just anoying and ugly to look at, but it will go away on its own. As you can see you can clean it off but it comes right back. I always just leave it alone till its gone and try not looking at the tank thats doing it for a while. So it doesn't drive me from crazy to insane :)

Is the tank cycled? Are parameters stable (ammonia, etc)? Could be uneaten food that has molded or perhaps there isn't enough flow on the bottom of the tank and things are getting stagnant. You could try adding a powerhead.

Its definately cycled, i cycled it with the 7 green tigers for about a month & half, bringing samples to the LFS almost weekly until it finally cycled. Ill have to check all my lvls, not sure if anythings out of whack. Ive thought about a powerhead in the past but really dont know much about them. This is my first tank and its been about 6 months with no real problems yet. I have a few though that came in a tank i got from someone but dont know where/how to mount them

Just checked my lvls, everything is fine except my nitrates are high. Going to do another water change and cleaning. i decided to put sand for the substrate in the beginning and it never seems like its clean enough or pulling anything when I'm hovering the tube above the sand.... at least not compared to my 20 gallon that has rocks and I can clearly see waste coming up from that tank
