What is this- in my water change waste?

Is this some type of parasite? If so, do I worry about it? Definitely not a fish. Blackish in color..smaller than a grain of rice... swims around more like a shrimp. I have ghost shrimp and RCS...these wouldn't be fry..would they? Not sure about the picture quality..apologies in advance.

I will have to read up on scuds...not sure what they are. Do I have to worry about them? I do have planted tanks..if that helps!! Like the glass jar suggestion...may give that a try! You are lifesavers!!!

They will hitchhike on plants and a lot of people culture them for live food, they also eat detritus, algae and leftover food.
