What is this wood

I got that from a small lake.
Right know, its wet and a little dry in some spots.
I don't want to be pin. i boil it for 2h and there where some kind of sap coming out of it. It ruined my pots.

pic 3 looks like a softwood of some kind, im gonna guess pine. I could be wrong though. Sappy wood dont put it in your tank.

The wood don't feel soft. but what do i know...

Its smell like ceder, but its feel a little to hard for ceder. don't know what to make of it.

If it has that smell, it's probably not a good idea to use it. Too bad it is a cool looking piece.

i relay like that piece also, never seen one like it before. What the meaning of the smell?

If it smells like cedar, it probably contains oils that wouldn't be good for fish. Pines and cedars contain these oils.

can i eliminate they oil with long duration hot water, or i will just destroy the wood?

I don't know, sorry. Perhaps with repeated boiling until you can't smell it anymore.
