It looked like a snakeskin when it was given to me. Looked like a red/ blue paradise once I got him acclimated with my other 2 gourami, and now he's red and blue tiger striped with a bright red paradise like tail with silver/blue in the center and honey and red snakeskin like fins with opalescent tips. I'm on an Android so I hope my pic attached. Thanks in advanced for any help.

Oh, and pardon the streaks on this 2g holder, I had to set up a couple holders quickly because. My 2 other gourami decided to turn on him, well, this little guy decided he could take on 2 old timers and they decided he was too annoying. He (I'm assuming from his flashy colors/ attitude) is hard to take pictures of because he's very aggressive and patrols like a betta, I know they are related. He is in a 2g holder until his 20g is fully cycled (just started last night, but I have plenty of colonized filter media and cycled water). Just cannot figure out what the heck he is. I've never seen a gourami this beautiful before.

Thank you. I thought so, but I've never experienced one with the honey, black and red snakeskin facial pattern before. Could this be stress? I got him from a person that had him in a half filled round glass bowl with lots of sludge in it. Nursed him back to health in my 20g qt/ hospital tank with my adult female 3 spot and blue paradise gourami- they have been together for years now and have NEVER had any problems with any other fish (including male betta) until now. I know he's young- could he be showing mating colors?
