ok guys since where in this topic I'm wondering what to get in lighting terms for my 60g tank. I was thinking a day light and a moonlight for nights. but what lights are the best and what watts are the best? and if so please give me for both types of tanks with some real plants and not real plants. my tank is in my dining room which has a big window about 15' away so light comes in thru the day. what substract to get too sand or dark color?

well with lights for planted tanks you need alot of red and blue in the spectrum and depends on what type of plants you need high light or low light depends on species but wattage of atleast 1 wpg may do good but you may need some more for different plants

this is what I am looking into:
Riccia Fluitans
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Christmas Moss
Moss Balls
Java Moss

I'm growing lileopsis well with 96 watts over a 20 inch high 35 gallon tank.

mosses need less.
