When should I rinse the filters?

Hello all, I recently posted about my very cloudy water and how to clear it. I'm using 2 foam inserts in the filter and removed the Ammo-Carb chips.

I was wondering if I should rinse the filters out at all? Or maybe just the one getting most of the junk. I've kicked up the gravel a few times and I'm wondering if the filters getting packed up will cause a problem.

It can Vega. I wouldn't rinse both at the same time; I'd do as you thought and rinse one in tank water, wait a couple of days then rinse the other in tank water(unless your tank is fully cycled and has a bio-wheel; then I'd do both).

For my tanks I do rinse out everytime I change the water. It will keep the tanks much cleaner and the fish much happier. Good choice on using foam only.
