which fish to choose?

I will be putting platies, guppies, and a female betta in my tank but which do I use to cycle the tank? I was thinking 2 platies. Would this be ok? thanks.

I don't know how big your aquarium is, but I'd go with the cheapest fish you can get for cycling the tank since it might not make it.

I'd go with the guppies personally.

i have cycled 3 tanks all with fish and never lost 1. i cycled the firts time with zebra danios. the second time with baby guppies and the 3rd time with 2 yellow labs. all worked out great. but what size is the tank? will there be plants?

it will be a 29 gallon tank with live plants. Should I put 2 guppies in then to cycle? or one?
