White film on top of water

I have a small 5gal tank, I see a white coating floating on top of the water. The tank has been up and running for several months, the fish seem happy.

I do weekly water changes.

Any ideas?

A picture might help. What kind of fish do you have?

Sometime surface agitation will break it up. Or place a paper towel on the surface and remove it quickly; that should remove most of the film.
