Whitish/clear growth on ornament...

Can anyone help identify what this is and wether it could harm fish? It's appeared during my fishless cycle.

This happened to me as well! I was told it was a harmless fungus that sometimes appears when cycling because the conditions are perfect for it to grow. I let it go for a week or two and it seemed to die off by itself, detach and float around the tank. At that point I took the decor out and rinsed it off, as well as an 80% water change. I'm still cycling but have yet to see it spring up again. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help.

Thanks! It only seems to be on one of the ornaments which I find strange! I'll give it a rinse next time I do a water change

It's in my tank too but fortunately it's not too bad - like you said, it's just on the ornaments ( and a few larger rocks I have). It's less than it was two weeks ago, so I'll just let it do it's thing. My one fish doesn't seem to mind.
