Why do corydoras get this RIDICULOUS long fin

Its hilarious, but not every corydoras catfish at my LFS had this super long fin, and it made me wonder "why?". So if anyone could answer that for me id appreciate it! I looked on Google and i couldnt find anythingIMG_20190731_161156_007.jpeg
 
Just line-breeding like most other goofy animal traits. There are long-fin varieties readily available for different corydoras species!
 
I'd love to come across some. I've never saw them around where I live.
 
Maybe I should have phrased it a bit differently as I also don't see them frequently in the LFSs here in western Michigan. I do see long-fin aneus cories probably at least once every 1-2 months though they go quickly! There may a local breeder? Never asked that many questions, I'm more of a dwarf cory species guy:lol:
