Why do my red eye tetra chase each other around?

I have 6 of them in my 10 gallón QT tank and they chase each other around, should i be worried or are they just playing around?

Exactly.
They are shoaling fish and as such, they establish a pecking order.

I agree with all of the posts. I have kept Tetras for years and that is pretty much how they act. They are establishing a pecking order in a somewhat playful manner. Wolves, for example, do the same thing. Just don't cross the BIG guy!

In that small of a space they're just jockeying for territory, once you let em loose in the big tank they'll be fine..

Ya in a few weeks, i got them a few days ago. theyrs 6 in a 10 gallón QT, i want to buy 5 rummy nose tetras today before they go out of stock. Can i put them with the red eye?

Thats a lot of fish for a 10g QT. You can do it if you do daily water changes, but otherwise your parameters will get out of whack pretty fast.
