wierd gourami coloring

I purchased one red and yellowish gourami (forgot the actual name of it) from petsmart about a week ago. Since being in my established 25 gal. community tank it has began to turn a greyish color on the top of its head and the bottom of its belly. It is not spotty or anything, it is more like he is slowly losing his color and it is spreading. Any idea what might be causing this? What can i do?

Is it one like this:

or more like this:

As you can see the later has some grey anyway and it's normal for them.

Otherwise it could be many things. Does he react scared? Are there any different behavior signs? May it be that he is fighting or getting picked on by other fishes?

Aquariums are like jello - there's always room for more.

More like the second picture. It has the bright coloring on the rest of its body, and then blotchy gray on certain parts
