No otos won't eat Marino moss balls they mainly eat algae and most are wild caught so if they clean the tank to well so to speak algae wafers or blanched zucchini can be supplemented can be difficult to get them to eat those 2-3 should be OK in a 10g I've had them in mine before their bio loads are small is your ten a planted tank they thrive better in a planted tank and can be sensitive to poor water quality

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, marimo moss balls, despite the name, are an algae.

Otos like to eat algae... I know plecostomus will eat marimos, so I wasn't sure about the otos.

How many otos in a ten gallon? Two? Three?

I have 3 Otos in a 20long with a moss ball for over a year they have never touched it.
