Depends on the betta, but in general no they will not. If you crush it in front of them some will run forward to eat the remains, but most will leave snails alone after testing their shell once or twice since they don't have any method to get through it. Only very aggressive bettas will have the tenacity to actually kill a snail without any help.

Bettas are pretty easy to care for. Give them a filtered tank of at least 5 gallons, don't put any fin nippers with them, don't have too much water flow, don't have any decorations with holes smaller than the diameter of your thumb or any sharp edges, and keep their water parameters in the proper ranges (temp, chemistry, etc). Until you learn your bettas temperament, keep an eye on how they get along with their tank mates to make sure no one's picking on each other. Other than that, sit back and enjoy :)
