For a 40 gallon,
4 Platys male:female ratio
2 rams
8 neon tetras
6 zebra danios
1 BN pleco
6 khuli loaches
10 shrimp
2 honey gourami
4 mystery snails or other.
3 guppies
What fish should I remove if it is?

I would remove 1 honey gourami and the guppies and you should be ok

It's not too bad. You've done well picking fish that will utilize different areas of the tank. I'd probably go with either the guppies or the platties instead of both.

What kind of filtration does it have?

Aquaclear 110 so it's over filtered

Are platys catfish? And I have a bn pleco in a 45 g tank and he has plenty of room!

No platys are not even close to being catfish....

Platties are livebearers, similar to swordtails. They are also sometimes referred to as "moons". :)

Oh ok I think I got them confused with corys. A cory is a catfish right? And thanks 4 bein nice about it. :)

Id drop the shrimp if only because they will be eaten

2-4 inches long beside dwarfs and pygmies
Yes they need a school of six or more

Usually around 2-3 inches and yes they love
Schools! Around 4-6 is good more is better. Tank permitting ofcourse.

IMO if you can't provide them with a school because it's a too small or poorly stocked tank you shouldn't have them
