Platties are livebearers, similar to swordtails. They are also sometimes referred to as "moons".

Id drop the shrimp if only because they will be eaten

Schools! Around 4-6 is good more is better. Tank permitting ofcourse.

IMO if you can't provide them with a school because it's a too small or poorly stocked tank you shouldn't have them
