Would a rena xp2 be enough for a dirted 55g tank? Thanks

I don't know if it's enough but that's what I have on my tank. My tanks 55g too.

Not sure what you mean by dirtied.

An XP2 would be the absolute minimum I would put on a 55g. I would recommend at least an XP3

I ran a XP3 on a high tech 55 planted tank for years. I'd of rather had the XP4, but the XP3 worked OK. I removed the mechanical media, and added more biological, and stuck a fat filter sponge on the intake to keep the canister and tank water free of floating debris. It also greatly cut down on maintenance since I didn't have to take apart the canister to clean the mechanical media.
