yet another algae question

so i've noticed that i have algae growing on my filter. is the water running accross the filter going to spread algae growth through out my tank?

Algae is everywhere .... it grows when the conditions are right. I wouldn't try to keep algae totally out of the tank (you can't). As long as the tank condition is such that the algae is not a nuisance, I wouldn't worry.
