Just a tip - salt mix doesn't go bad and you can save a good bit of cash buying the big boxes of salt! I usually use instant ocean brand. And be sure to premix the salt water in a separate container, not the tank.

That will work, and that's a pretty good price! Raise the salinity a little at a time over a few weeks. I forget the recommended specific gravity for younger ones - I just slowly brought them up to full marine when they were about a year old. It's a bit easier in some ways than maintaining brackish water.

I have a friend that has a salt water tank. She said when they were cleaning their tank they collected some salt at the top above the water line. She said I could have that. Would that work
