I have had an eastern grass/glass/ghost shrimp (Palaemonetes paludosus) alone in one of my tanks for a couple months. Recently, I discovered that she had babies when I noticed two small shrimp swimming around the tank. Immaculate conception aside, these shrimp are supposedly difficult to breed due to a lack of food for their larval stage. I'm not sure what I did right, but it happened! Has anyone else seen this occur or know what I must've "done right?"

That's pretty cool! This happened to me too, a few months ago too. I had mine in a brackish tank, with algae on the back. Didn't pay attention for a few months, and next thing I know, there's some new baby shrimp. Ghost shrimp breeding in tanks is pretty rare, but does happen. If the adults are happy enough to breed, and there is algae/bacterial film/other microfauna for the shrimplets to eat.
