One of my red cherry shrimp molted and the shell is laying on my gravel! What will happen to the shrimp, why did it molt? Should I remove the shell thing?

It's normal. Molting is how they grow. I leave the molted exoskeleton on the tank and let them eat it

It is a good sign if they are molting, you should leave the shell in the tank because they eat it and get some nutrients out of it. good luck, cherry shrimp are great

The shrimp grow inside their exoskeleton, but the exoskeleton doesn't grow with them. So they pop out of it and grow a new one that will fit over their bigger body until they grow bigger and need to molt again. I have about twenty cherry shrimp, and there are almost always little whitish molted shells sitting around the tank. I've never actually seen the shrimp eat them, but they disappear after a few days.
