I have a community tank with an angelfish, a rainbow shark, a bumblebee catfish, and a few tetras and peaceful fish.

I got a regular crayfish about 3 months ago at my LFS and he destroyed my entire tank in like two days... All the plants were gone - roots and all. I took him back to the pet store immediately and bought some new plants...

Today I discovered that dwarf crayfish don't eat plants, so now I'm all over it! Will my angelfish (the one I'm most worried about) try to attack them? I'm surmising that since the crayfish have pinchers, the angelfish will only try to eat them once, if at all.

Also, would I be able to breed these or would my fish eat the babies?

I also have a shrimp tank, but it's specifically dropped to a pH of mid 6s, so I don't think the crayfish would do well in there.

My big tank is a 36 gallon with 7.6 pH.

My only concern is that they have a max size of 1 inch or so... Talk about boring in a large tank... However, crayfish are cool!

What does everyone think?
