First Time Shrimper

I have a one gallon tank with an air filter I would like to plant it and make a shrimp tank.

My plants:
Java Fern
Java moss if I can find it.

My question is
what lights do I need?
How many red cherry shrimp?
Should I use flourish or other frets?
What about water changes?

What kind of light do you have? If it is an incandescent fixture you might be able to swap out the bulb with a CFL bulb (6500K maybe 13w). They run cooler than incandescent bulbs. However, the 13w CFL might be too much light for that size tank.
You should be fine without ferts. I have a shrimp tank with crypts and moss and the the crypts get root pellets (which won't work too well with the under gravel filter) but the moss thrives without ferts.

The light is a 7 watt (type c-7) bulb.

That should be enough for moss and maybe java fern.

Hmmm...maybe not. I just realized that those bulbs are basically the same ones used in night lights.

Yeah. I could get a 15 watt plant bulb. Is that to strong?
