Help on cherry shrimp

so what should I do next, I've been planning to move my cherry shrimp from my tank to my now currently empty ten gallon for a while. Is this a good idea? Can I do a water change and add the dirty water to the ten gallon and move some media from my filter then immediately add the shrimp?

I would say that you add 75% new-cycled water, and 25% old water. Shrimps should survive these changes. As long as its not too drastic from their old environment.

Make sure they have place to hide.
