How many RCS?

So I gather shrimp stocking works differently to fish. I am getting an 8gal shrimp setup which will be moderately planted.

I wanted to know how many RCS it will support, but also how many I should start with (once I've cycled the tank) as I think they breed quite fast?

Thanks

I'd start with 10 or so so you have a good chance of having a few of each sex. Then before you know it you'll have heaps of them

Most shrimp are sold on a 12, 15 or 20 basis. You could easily do any of those numbers.

It truly depends on how soon you want your tank to be full looking.

If you have 3-4 females to start and they breed normally, you can expect to be at full capacity in 60 days with a mix of juvies and adults.

Edit: depending on how many plants you have, a 8 gallon long could support maybe 100 total shrimp. An 8 gal tall could do 80-90.
