Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if you all have any insight into why my Amonos are crawling out of my tank at night. I'm new to keeping shrimp, and got some to try and combat algae. I've had 2 in 2 weeks escape. The first didn't survive, but the second one was alive when I found it this morning. Hopefully he survives. I have a lid on my tank, but they're escaping through the filter/heater/etc opening. Water parameters are good, plenty of driftwood and plants to hide in, and more algae then they could ever eat.

Thank you in advance.

If they do not favor the parameters/environment they will actively search for greener pastures. Or something is chasing or startling them.

Agree with Brookster, but I have found that some Amanos just like to *explore*
I ended up covering as much of the tank lid openings as I could with duct tape or *whatever* and keeping the water level a little lower than I normally would, without creating a constant waterfall sound effect from my filters.
