Question about shrimp compatibility

I currently have 4 ghost shrimp (2 female, 2 male) I'm transferring everything to a larger tank and was thinking about getting done RCS because they look really nice. I've read all the mixed reviews that Google can offer me so I come to you to ask if my ghost shrimp will get along with some RCS in a 20gallon tank?

It's really dependent on the actual species, but in short the best answer is do not mix the two. The GS are larger and will be super territorial for one and probably consume the RCS.

If you're looking for RCS, there's a few folks here with awesome reviews and they often sell them for about $1/ea plus shipping.

I'm definitely think about it, but I'm extremely impatient when it comes to acquiring new things. Especially additions to my aquarium.

I've seen some very predatory Ghost shrimp so i don't mix them.
You could try Amano Shrimp if you have room. Still clear, but much larger.

Just fyi, I have kept Ghosts, filter feeding shrimp and cherry shrimp together. They had a 29G tank, lots of plants, current, rocks, wood. And fish too. Danios, kuhli loaches and cories. I also had some Blue claw Whisker shrimp, a small machrobrachium species that's no more aggressive than a Ghost. When I added the Cherries, [ Snowballs, the white version], I had mostly newborns from a female that birthed right after I got her. I put them in a breeding net and within the first few days, found a Danio, a Whisker and a Ghost shrimp in the net, snacking.

So I covered the net. Eventually all the Snowballs escaped from the net and I thought they were pretty much gone. But they weren't. In a few months I had dozens of Snowballs, of all sizes and the colony continued to grow, despite the fish, and other shrimps. I even had baby Ghost shrimp born and survive to adulthood in this tank. So it's totally possible to keep them together. I think the key is to provide a LOT of plants and other decor so they all have lots of space to feed and move around and also to hide when they moult or drop babies.
