ok so usually I don't pay my snails a major amount of attention. Well over the last week I have been watching them and noticing oddities in behavior that I never noticed before. Recently I have been seeing more and more of 2 snails wrapping around each other. One of them even looked like it had a "penis" for a lack of a better word and was thrusting towards the other snail. This has me baffled as I was under the understanding that ramshorn snails were asexual and didn't need a mate. am I wrong? if I'm not then what in the heck are these snails doing? cleaning each other? fighting?

this image it just looks like they are on the back of each other but other times their fleshy parts are wrapped together.

They are hermaphrodites and have both sexual organs and can produce offspring asexually but will also get cozy together - it is spring time!!!
