Just a quick question: how would RCS and Ghost Shrimp do in a small aquarium (14gal) with livebearers (2 Platys and 2 swordtails)?

I'm working on an interesting tank for the lower school science room.

Its not a good idea to have anything with your RCS. If it fits in the mouth its going to be eaten. I had a ghost shrimp rip a Red cherry limb from limb. I would do shrimp only planted or do ghost shrimp and live bearers. Ghost shrimp can hold their own, had one snatch a cardinal out of water.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll stick with ghost shrimp.

I've had neo shrimp in with 20 or so platies and they held their own for me. You have to assume they will eat some but cherry shrimp are do prolific they should be okay. I got rid of my endlers I had in with my cherries and they must have eaten way more than the platies. My cherry population went through the roof. I have at least 500 cherries right now. Babies are everywhere.
