Went to clean intake tube and snail got sucked onto it. Too it off so as I saw it . Tip of shell is chipped of ... I had just bought tums to add to help with calcium he is alive and movin now

He should be ok. But get an intake cover, I've had two drown because their foot got caught and they could not get free. By the time I found them, they had died.
The chip, is it in the growing edge ? If so, it may never entirely disappear, but unless it is quite large, should not cause a serious problem.
If it is on the body somewhere, and you can see the snail flesh inside, patching with a piece of shell and crazy glue helps, but they can eventually calcify wounds like this if they are not too big. Once calcified, the snail is fine. Can't patch the growing edge because it moves all the time.
