scarlet badis with shrimp

Hello all I saw that there are a lot of different types of shrimp and was wondering if I could keep some with my scarlet badis (Dario Dario) its in a fluval edge 6gallon with eco complete substrate I dose once or twice a week with excel.

I saw i guy who had a five gallon with cherry shrimp and scarlet badis, and it was a almost no maintnence tank. The scarlets snacked on the babies, and there were so many plants that it kind of acted as a filter and the shrimp ate all those little organisms.
