That looks like dwarf hairgrass. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong. I had for a short time but it can be messy.

So nobody had any shrimp to show off for over a year?!??? More than 400 days it says!

I waited so long to get some of these about 3 years! I had my eye on these for 4 years since I had seen a post of some one selling off a bunch of them to clear a tank to start breeding some other kind. I was too afraid of killing them off being so inexperienced, so didn't get them. They were so beautiful. Especially fascinating with the ones with the 2 dots at the crown.

These guys are a joy to keep and watch.

Big Tree Little Village Aquascape

Been keeping fish for over 10 years but here is my fist attempt at a Aquascape

40L tropical
1 Betta
9 Cardinal Tetra
4 Harlequin Rasbora
4 White Cloud Mountain Minnow
And now for the Shrimp
2 Cherry
2 Blue
2 Glass
3 Amano

Java Moss with Hair Grass!!!!!
Don't do it! When trimming the moss, it gets stuck in the grass and then is a nightmare to remove. The answer?????? more shrimp or don't mix them.

The two images show a first go at attaching Java Moss to bog wood to make it look like a tree. I have since learnt that thin to win is the way to go. After a few weeks the underneath dies from lack of light and your tank gets in a mess. Several water changes and more time gluing fresh moss and the results are clear. You can still see the foam I used to bulk out the bog wood but soon that'll be gone.

What do you think of my mason jar shrimp tank for a desk at work? Only 3 in there (however i did add a teeny tiny baby in case one died, but they all survived for what is 2 weeks as of posting this) and a ramshorn snail for clean up. Java moss, mermaid weed, and what i was told is giant duckweed, but i cant confirm that. Seachems clay substrate i forget what its called. But guarantees "for the life of your tank". I heard its popular in Europe to put a mason jar tank in a window and my mom wanted something for her desk at work, shes very good with plants and ive made a water change and feeding schedule for her so she can do it right

Jar looks fun.

Have a turkey baster, would be very useful. Marimo moss balls would be cute too!

I use an unused "flavor injector" lol its basically a big round syringe with no needle. Moss ball would look great, but i didnt want to take up too much space

Just recently caught the shrimp-keeping bug after converting a 30 gallon freshwater community to a shrimp tank with wild neocaradina and caradina baubalti "zebra".

Quickly set up 2 other tanks as well: a Fluvel Flex 9 gallon and a Fluvel Spec V.

Here are some pictures:

30 gallon

Fluvel Flex 9 gallon: With Bloody Mary Shrimp

Fluvel Spec V ( still cycling- just set up a couple days ago!

Thanks! Yeah, Ive kinda ran out of room for now to put up any larger tanks. Until I can convince my husband that we dont need the couch anyways-- lol! Shrimp are a totally different take on the hobby for me-- make you draw in close to the aquarium, watch carefully, slow down. Its very relaxing.

How many pellets does it take to feed a mixed shrimp / oto tank....

1 for each berried amano then one for everyone else to share.

I love how my bamboo shrimp tag team with the cherries filtering up the mess they make!

(Don’t judge; she’s eating for 2000.)
