I would like to add shrimp to my community that are not going to become food. Biggest fish I have are a pack of greedy platies 1 1/2" - 2"
3 24k gold mollies, 2" and 1 juvenile German blue ram 2".
So far I have tried 10 red cherry shrimp. There's one left possibly two.
I also added 9 amano shrimp and those are apparently delicious also.

I also am looking for a variety that is NOT a filter feeder.

Ghost Shrimp might make it. But besides them you are out of options. Make sure you have a dense clump of Java Moss or something to help keep remaining Shrimp alive.

I don't think you can keep shrimp alive with all those hungry fish! Will probably get eaten or very stressed. I would not attempt to keep shrimp in this tank, they will cost you more than other fish food:)

Yes, I agree, and my stock list has become much more shrimp unfriendly with an additional 3 german blue rams added recently and 4 tiger barbs and one green tiger barb. And with the aproximate 45 fish in my 38g tank it's a pretty hostile environment at times :p
