I got a marbled cray about 6 weeks ago... she has molted 4 times now and grown to 2.75 inches... but after her last molt she looks very blue... i feed her primarily algae wafers, with occasional shrimp wafers... here are pics from since i got her to now... last 2 are from today

it was a juvie when you got it, they start to show color as they mature. that's why most of the time you don't buy baby crays because they usually look the same when they're young. it's been a source of many unfortunate purchase since specie get mixed up. but hey personally, i like blue over marble cray

I didnt buy it. He was given 2 my by a friend whos nephew raises them and he said they are marbles when i was given it... i read up on them and diet can give them the blue color... higher protein causes it.

oh he's pretty. I recently had a purchase where there was a mix up, now i have 3 mystery crayfish. i'm still tring to adopt them out.

Looks like a marbled cray to me. I've got tins of them, and I've seen them go blue before. Protein and spirulina, which is in the wafers, help them turn blue.

Ok. Her diet is mainly tank stickers in veggie or shrimp flavor...

I feed hikari crab cuisine and algae wafers myself. Most aren't very blue since I only feed the wafers as a treat. Just be sure they are getting the minerals they need to molt in their diet.

Yup. I only have the one. She is 2.75 inches now and still no eggs....? She snacks on snails also.

Mine first berried up at around 9-10 months old and near three inches in length. Maybe a little longer than 3 inches. Don't give up on her yet!

Im not. She is pretty and cool either way... even if she did start eating all my plants!!! Lol

Came home from work this morning to find my cray berried!!!!! Now the true test... if they hatch she is a marble!!! I hope she is tho!!! So excited!!

Thanx!!! There is like a jelly all on her underside is that normal??... and not very many eggs but its her first batch so im not worried... the eggs are a light tan color

Yeah. Try feeding after lights out. Mine will come out for food when she is berried but only in the dark or when she thinks I'm not looking. Be prepared for her to practically disappear for a few weeks.

I fed her before i left for work and all the food is gone now so she ate. Got better pics 2... im guessing the clear jelly had something to do with her laying them as its gone and there are a bunch more than yesterday!!! Whats the average gestation length??? Tank is about 76... her coloring is still a bit blue, but ive switched her food to hbh crab and lobster bites and she loves them!!!

She is really blue! I have never seen white eggs like that, though. Maybe she somehow didn't get all of them fertilized. It usually takes close to a month for the babies to fully develop and drop off. The eggs will hatch and they babies will cling to her swimmeretts until they are fully developed.

I'll take the mystery crayfish off your hads for the shipping cost. If interested shipping is to 63028.

Lol no thanx!!! Im pretty sure she is a marble, i was feeding her alot of algae wafers which is why she is blue. I may be able 2 ship you a baby or 2 once they are big enough. But either way, ive had her since she was an inch long and she is the coolest!!
