Tank water hardness and shrimp

Is it important and why ? I know there metals in there !! I have shrimps

Hi, I think it is important as certain fish prefer certain levels, particularly for breeding. I would imagine this also goes for shrimps. I try and match the preference of the fish to my tap water.
